 mobile  Maker  kits

Welcome  Makers!

We are excited to provide teachers with opportunities to allow their students to learn by doing. The Maker movement relies on the theory that students learn best when they are engaged in hands-on, personally meaningful activity. Each Mobile Maker Kit has been designed specifically for your students to ensure that every lesson is interdisciplinary, grounded in state standards, differentiated, rigorous and fun.

Each  kit  includes:
/ differentiated  lesson  plan

/required  materials
/ assessments

Kits have been developed by the faculty and staff from The Citadel's Zucker Family School of Education for K-5 grade students with support from Dorchester District Two teachers.
Note: While these kits were developed for teachers in Dorchester County, SC, posted lessons are available for all to use.

STUDENT  EXPLORATION

A   lasting   impact

Each kit requires students to think creatively in order to solve a problem or complete a task. Students are provided with support but provided plenty of opportunity to design, tinker, and reflect. Collaboration and cooperation are important components of the Mobile Maker Kits.
The Mobile Maker Kits have been created to increase access and remove barriers for teachers and students who want to learn through making. Kits are available to check out from Newington Elementary and The Citadel. Members of The Citadel staff will deliver kits by request.
